Master Painter Alfonso Arana Passed Away

Our deepest condolences to Mr. Arana's family. Alfonso Arana was born in New York City in 1927 and died in France on November 18th of this current year 2005. Arana's artwork was internationally known. His images of surrealistic women with hollow eyes and no skulls, like if existing in a peaceful masquerade, with voluptuous naked porcelain bodies and debonair mannerisms, became his trademark -http://www.cci-oise.fr/melotheque/gb_arana.html-. I had the privilege of meeting him and sharing his artistic wisdom. A friend of Picasso, Arana was truly a living legend. Through the "Francisco Arana Foundation" he helped many new talents to cultivate their skills by studying in France. His last advice to me was: "Above everything, be humble."
